How to Spot an AI "Make Money" Scam Before You Waste Time
Every category on this site has a legitimate version and a scam version circulating alongside it. The scam versions share a small set of tells:
- Upfront payment to "unlock" tasks, get "certified," or access a "starter kit." No legitimate data-licensing, annotation, or freelance platform charges workers to join.
- Vague task descriptions paired with big, round promised payouts ("$500/day easy") and no explanation of what the actual work is.
- Recruiting is the main way to earn, not the work itself — that's a pyramid structure, not a job.
- Pressure to act immediately ("limited spots," countdown timers) on something that should just be a normal signup.
